(ordinarily, I don't make announcements here of FCUG meetings, but this one is special)

Merry Christmas, C= and Amiga aficionados!
The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, December 20, at

         The Pizza Pit
         2701 N. Blackstone Ave. (corner
         of Blackstone and Princeton)
         Fresno, California

For this month we concentrate on the VIC-20.  We'll investigate the new VIC-20 Multicart/Development Cart from Kent Rittenhouse, the new Planet X1 game from David Murray, and the new Denial Collection 3 (seven games on tape!) from Jeff Daniels.  If there is time, we'll look at Plus Term, a VIC-20 terminal program that works with 16k ram expansion.
Also the Molly Friedrich-designed Steampunk C64 (o.k., you can change it to a Steampunk VIC-20) will be unveiled/unwrapped.  To get a sneak peek at the Steampunk C64, go to

P.S. For you Amigans, I'm bringing the Amiga CD-32 plus SX-32 attachment.  A work in progress!

P.P.S. We will be also discussing the disposition of Autumn Techonologies' Digimaster (audio-digitizing program) for the C64.  More details at the meeting.

A last minute change in the meeting location... we will now meet at

          El Bajio Restaurant
          2320 N. Blackstone Ave.
          Fresno , California

The change was to accomodate our filmmaker friends, Rory and Jerold, who are coming from Hollywood to visit our group again.  El Bajio has better interior lighting and better interior sound properties, which are so important for filmmakers.

Happy New Year, C= and Amiga aficionados!

The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, January 10, at

The Pizza Pit
2701 N. Blackstone Ave. (corner
of Blackstone and Princeton) Fresno, California

This month we finish looking at various items for the VIC-20 -- the new Planet X1 game from David Murray and the new Denial Collection 3 from Jeff Daniels. Also we will examine the rare and mysterious Hamtext cart for the VIC-20, complete with instruction binder and accessory interface cartridge (ooo, blinking lights).

Not to leave the C64 out in the cold, we'll look at the David Haynes' Commodore Archive DVDs, 20 discs full of .pdf's of Commodore magazines and .d64s of those magazines' programs. Copies of the Archive DVDs will be distributed, as well as the club newsletter.

Truly,
Robert Bernardo

The Hamtext cart and accessory transceiver are now fully functional!  After contacting the company Kantronics (still in business after all these years!), Rmv was able to get the necessary info for the transceiver's power supply and connecting cable to the VIC-20.  Power supply bought... cable made... Everything works well.

Happy Springtime, C= and Ami aficionados!
The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 1+ p.m., Sunday, March 21, at

           El Bajio Restaurant
           2320 N. Blackstone Ave.
           Fresno, California

Note the change in our meeting place for this month.
This month we have a special guest coming all the way from Toronto, Ontario, Canada; it's Leif Bloomquist, Commodore programmer and enthusiast extraordinaire!  He'll be bringing library CDs of the Toronto PET User Group to sell.  Prepare to ask him about Commodore, TPUG, Toronto, or Canada in general!  :)
In keeping with this meeting's Canadian theme, we'll looking at the VIC-20 programs on cassette from Canadian Tire - programs such as Depth Charge, Rocket Command, and Miniature Golf.
As if that's not enough, we still have leftover programs from last month that we did not get to - Wolfman for the C64 and Micrograms' Super Student programs for the C64.
More copies of David Haynes' Commodore Archive DVDs will be distributed as will be the latest newsletter.

          Whew!

Greetings, C= and Ami aficionados!
The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 11 a.m. to 1+ p.m., Saturday, April 10, at

         The Pizza Pit Restaurant
2705 N. Blackstone Ave. (corner of Blackstone and Princeton)
         Fresno, California

We're back to our regular place, but note the change in our meeting date for this month, Saturday instead of Sunday.
This month we will look at Andrew Martin's new Hi-Res Workstation v2.0 for the C64 (v1.0 previously was released in Loadstar #175). Also we'll investigate the AEASoft MBAText (Morse, Baudot, ASCII) cartridge, included AEA Computer Patch Interface, and supplementary
disks for the C64.  (Yup, more ham radio stuff.)  The last batch of the David Haynes' Commodore Archive DVDs will be distributed. Finally, if there is time, we will take a peek at the load of VIC-20 software obtained from Jim Scabery of Portland, Oregon -- software
like Rescue at Rigel and Quick Brown Fox.

            Whew!
