The Japan disaster

     Well, just as with the Haiti disaster, I've starting donating to organization(s) that help those earthquake/tsunami victims in Japan.  Today I made a donation to http://redcross.org .
     Fortunately, my friends who live in central and southern Japan have not been affected by the disaster.

Good man.  I tend to make donations that benefit things closer to home, but I'm sure they'll appreciate your efforts.  We live close to a nuclear power station, and this disaster has caused us to put nuclear power under the microscope.  Clearly, safer renewable energy alternatives exist, so it makes me wonder why we even bother with nuclear power in this day and age.
