Title: Odd indy 500 cart
Post by: Rorshach on March 06, 2009, 08:34:09 PM
Many years ago, well early 90's I picked up an indy 500 cart from Active Surplus in downtown toronto. It was odd cause it didn't have the normally included paddle controller and it was marked as a joystick only game.  I picked it up anyways since it wasn't expensive.  I got it home and discovered it did work with joystick, sort of.  Problem was while modified for joystick one couldn't turn 90 degrees and the car would go right through the wall instead of turning the corner and instead wrap around the screen and come across the other side of the screen.  Needless to say it was a curiousity and not really playable though.  I still have it stored away and I've always wondered how prevalent it was this oddity and if anyone else has run across it aside from those who bought it at active surplus.  I surmise it did turn up other places.
