At the TOGA meeting of Sept. 18, Ed H. gave me a bunch of VIC-20 software - carts and tapes. Though the boxes are in just fair condition, one really stood out. It was a Koalapad box; inside was a well-used Koalapad with a new-looking, still-in-the-shrinkwrap Dancing Bear box (with VIC-20 cart inside). I am now torn whether or not to open up that NOS box.
How to try out Dancing Bear without opening the box?

Yesterday I received a VC1020 for the VIC-20. In all its beige, metal goodness, it looks for like a PET peripheral than a VIC-20 one! I haven't taken any photos of it yet, but you can look at other photos at

Though it was lightly wrapped in bubble-wrap, the VC1020 came in a stout shipping box, arriving in good condition. The paint was in good condition, and all the connections seemed to be fine. I would have preferred an original instruction manual with it, as I couldn't find any on-line. Also it was missing its CBM front label; however, I will ask a FCUG member who is in the printing business to see if he can make a duplicate label.
Now all I have to do is test
it with an early VIC-20,
