Subject: Atari Party 2011 plans are forming
From: Bill Kendrick
Date: Sun, January 23, 2011 9:46 am
Hello fellow Atarians,
I'm starting to make plans for this year's Atari Party, targeting a Saturday in late May (21st or 28th), and back at the Davis Public Library. (The room we used there in 2009 is now: bigger, has a built-in projector, and an attached conference room!)
Sponsors are lining up, too: AtariMax, O'Reilly Media, Legacy Engineering and Scott Howard Productions, so far.
I'll post more, but for now there's a little bit of info up at:
http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/atariparty/2011/
If you'd like to help sponsor, bring a system, or otherwise volunteer, sign up for the volunteer coordination mailing list and drop us a note:
http://lists.sonic.net/mailman/listinfo/atariparty
Thanks & take care!
-bill!

Hi all - Just a quick note: Atari Party 2011 has been scheduled!
We'll be gathering at the public library in Davis, California, all day Saturday, June 11th.
Thanks to many sponsors who have helped out, we'll be holding a great prize drawing -- you could win a Nintendo DS cartrdige full of Atari games, an Atari Flashback 2+ plug-and-play game console, Atari-themed t-shirts, all decals or playing cards, or even a complete Atari 800 computer system with programmable flash cartridge. We'll also be screening the documentary "Once Upon Atari" again, and the 1984 feature film "Cloak & Dagger".
Just like 2009 and 2010 events, Atari Party 2011 will be free and open to the public!
Lots of info is already up on the website, and I'll be adding more in the coming weeks and months. (I'll also occasionally post any major news and reminders...)

If you'd like to help volunteer (including bringing your own gear to set up), please subscribe to the volunteer coordination mailing list and post a message:

Thanks, and hope to see you in June!

Subject: Flyer for Atari Party 2011 now available
From: Bill Kendrick
Marianne Waage [has] put together a cute little flyer for this year's Atari Party, which you can download as a color PDF
- . Feel free to print and post copies where appropriate!
http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/atariparty/2011/flyer/
- We're considering posting a B&W version as well, with increased contrast, for people who wish to print on a greyscale printer.
PS - I have to plug to Marianne's "geek*" store over on CafePress, which has geeky & retro items that are very appropriate to Atari Party's audience:

And don't forget to visit our other sponsors! Start here:

Bill was kind enough to offer me a table where I could set up *Commodore* equipment. I had to tell him that on the day of Atari Party, I would be 6,000 miles away in England.

Sounds good, but Californias a bit farther than I can get to this year. It's a shame there has not been much atari activity up here for quite a while. The last big event was Ace'95 which as you guessed was all the way back in April 1995
