March Meeting - Durham.

Dates are Fri 12th to Sun 14th inclusive, with the main meeting / show being held in The Lambton Hounds pub, Pity Me, Durham on Sat 13th.

We have Shaun Bebbington, Nigel Parker (Commodore Free Magazine), Chris Syntichakis and myself confirmed with Chris Snowden and Allan Bairstow as possibles.

I can accommodate 2 people at my place (on a 1st come, 1st served basis), with rooms being available at The Lambton Hounds (http://lambtonhounds.webeden.co.uk/), which is only 5 mins walk from my place.

That's what I thought, but there's 3 different monitors. Also, the RGB connector works fine on my A1200.

I was using the evaluation version, downloaded from M$. I wanted to see how it compared to Vista and I was very impressed. Faster, less intrusive and what Vista should have been had they finished it before release.

The main reason I switched to Ubuntu on my laptop (my main machine is an iMac) is the constant AV updates, security scans, spyware software etc. etc. I just like to switch my computer on and use it. That'll be why I still use my C64 and Amiga

I've just upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 Ultimate to Ubuntu 9.10. Much better 

Will be putting 3.1 ROMs into my A1200 at the weekend and installing a hard drive, so will be upgrading that to 3.1 lol

Well, I've used 2 different C64 supplies, the original wedge shaped one and a black, ribbed brick. Also the new custom one I got made by Doc of Desire.

Also, I get picture just fine on the TV using the SCART cable.

I was using my C64 (breadbin) with an LCA cable and a 1084S monitor. I then switched to a C64C using the same cable and monitor. No problems.

Then one day I turned on the monitor and there was no picture. I tried another LCA cable. No picture. I tried another monitor. No picture.

I tried 2 other C64s, no picture.

I've just received another 1084S, and still no picture. So, that's 3 C64s (2 x breadbin, 1 x C64C), 2 cables and 3 monitors. No picture when before all was working great.

I also have a SCART cable, and that works fine on all machines.

The only difference between the LCA cables and the SCART is the DIN plug. The SCART cable has 5 pins, the LCA cables are fully pinned, so I can't test them on the VIC-20.

My everyday watch is the black plastic version of the Casio.

I used to have a calculator watch, but don't recall the make of it.

I also sent away for the James Bond watch that was released through Monster Munch crisps (I think.) The alarm was the Bond Theme. Had 5 of them and there was always something that didn't work on them  

Ah well.

As you said, the Back to the Future trilogy.

Then there's Tom Hanks in Big, love that film. Ghostbusters, Goonies, Gremlins (not so keen on Gremlins 2 though), Karate Kid, Short Circuit. I can go on and on. WarGames!! totally hooked on that film as a kid, and still watch it at least once a month
