My MP3 player released it's magic smoke a couple of weeks ago, and I identified the component that needs to be replaced to make it work again.  I'm having trouble identifying it.  What do you think it was before it melted?

It has the appearance of an SMT capacitor or resister, without seeing the markings I cannot say what values it might have had.

I think its a diode, probably a 1n4 with that grey band marking the cathode end.
