Now that Amiga OS 3.2 is being released, I am seriously thinking of converting my Amigas that have 3.1.  I've never had 3.14, and some of the high-end Amigas will keep their 3.9.

Some time ago, I installed OS 3.2 (Kickstart chip and software) in my Amiga 600.  With 2 meg of Chip RAM and no Fast RAM, it was barely usable, a lot of WHDLoad games refusing to launch.  With 2 meg of Chip RAM and 2 megs of Fast RAM (via the PCMCIA port), it was better but still didn't like some WHDLoad programs.  I removed the PCMCIA RAM and installed a 8-meg RAM expander.  Now the A600 is quite usable!  I later installed the 3.2.1 chip and upgraded to Arcade Game Selector II for the multitude of WHDLoad games.

I've found out that a 3.2.2 chip is not compatible with the 3.2 install on the CF card.  Also, I discovered that the 8-meg RAM expander is interfering with the PCMCIA port, even though 3.2 is supposed to cure that conflict.  I've reduced the expander to 5.5 megs, and all is well with the PCMCIA port.
