A few days ago a student at my school asked me to make a printed banner.  This student was baby sister of one of my students I had 15 years ago!  She wanted this banner for the 50th birthday of her father.  Well, it took me awhile to gather all the materials together; I dug out Printmaster v2.0 for the C64, found out that my wide-carriage Epson EX-1000 printer had a dried-out, jammed ribbon, took out the narrow-carriage Citizen GX-200 printer which had a fair ribbon, and bought a box of fanfold paper (over $33.00 from Staples!  What happened to the good, old days when you could have gotten a large box for $10).  With the HotShot printer interface properly configured and Printmaster set for Epson printing (which the Citizen used), I input the required banner info into the program.  Ah, it was all coming back to me now.  Set the left graphic, put in the right graphic, pick the font, and write the message.  Return and the Citizen started buzzing away.
With the banner finished, I drove off to the student's house.  I thought I would just deliver the banner and leave, but I met my former student of 15 years ago and even more students I had 15 years ago.  We talked about the old days, about how they used to use the Commodores in my class, and about their current lives today.  They even treated me to an early dinner.
Well, more and more people started coming in for the father's birthday party, and I felt that I should leave.  But it was good to catch up on what they were doing these days, what with jobs and families.

I should make more banners and show the
current students what a Commodore can do,
