Greetings Programs,

I had the thought it might be good if those of us came up with a list of sources for retro systems and parts. Everything from dealers to places to get minor replacement parts.

Heres a few more useful links:

This is Ray Carlsens famous site with a number of repair articles in ASCII so they should be readable even with a text reader like lynx on a shell account (as in using your 8bit for it). This one is a must for Commodore heads.

This ftp site has a bunch of commodore related articles. The one I've referenced here is a simple to build RS232 interface for the Commodore 8bits with a user port. Plus/4 Vic20 128 64 can all use this interface and it includes voltage level conversion from TTL (0 and 5V) to RS232 levels (-12V and +12V).

This is a recipe / process for fixing yellowed plastics found in or on most retro computers. THe hydrogen peroxide is not kind to metals so be sure metal parts are protected. Also wear rubber gloves as the Hydrogen Peroxide is also unpleasant to skin as well.

This is a California based company that has many replacement parts for Atari computers & game consoles. It is not cheap but the quality and service are unbeatable. Nearly all of the parts are NOS and in perfect condition.
