When I arrived in England last Thursday, my British friend brought me to some of his friends, Jeff, Mark, and Robert.  They owned a 1968 Ford Galaxie with a 390 V-8 engine and automatic transmission.  Whoa!  It was really big, compared to the little Euro boxes roaming the streets of Haywards Heath.  Mark took in on a drive around, and he negotiated the narrow streets like a pro.  That Galaxie had lots of rumbling power and lots of familiar body lean as we scooted around.  Very nice!
Then on Friday my friend needed some parts from an automobile scrapyard (or junkyard, as I would say).  It was one of those pick n' pull places (though he would never use that term).  As he removed parts, I stood aimlessly looking at the wrecked, parted-out Euro cars.  I thought, "If only there were American cars here, I would be more interested."  Heh, that would be funny if I did find such American car parts... "What did you bring us from England, Uncle?"  "Oh, let me open my suitcase... Here have an air-cleaner cover to a Ford Ranchero."  ;D
